Holiday Operating Hours for Monday, August 4, 2025
The City of Pickering will be hosting the Emancipation Day Celebration on Wednesday, July 30, 2025 from 3:30 pm - 7:00 pm.
To help residents stay cool and safe during periods of extreme heat, the City of Pickering is introducing extended hours for select amenities during designated heat warnings.
Updated Operational Hours – Effective July 29, 2025
Chestnut Hill Developments Recreation Complex – Public Swim
During designated heat warnings:
• Monday to Friday: 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm – 10:00 pm
• Saturday and Sunday: 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm
Splash Pads – All Locations
Open daily from 8:00 am to 9:00 pm:
• Amberlea Park
• Beachfront Park & Millennium Square
• Foxtail Green
These extended hours will remain in effect during active heat warnings issued by the Region of Durham.

Heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) units are being replaced at East Shore Community Centre with the use of cranes.
Notice of Extension of Temporary Road Closure, Walnut Lane
2025The Beverley Morgan Park Artificial Turf Replacement project is underway, with construction beginning on Monday June 23, 2025 and continuing until Friday August 29, 2025 (subject to weather conditions).
Lift All Crane will be making an emergency replacement of a HVAC unit on top of the condominium building at 1625 Pickering Parkway.
June 13, 2025 - The Town of Ajax is undertaking its Church Street Bridge Rehabilitation project, which may affect traffic flow and routes for residents in neighbouring communities, including Pickering. The Church Street Bridge (Bridge 18) over Duffins Creek, located 60 meters North of Highway 401, was constructed in 1960. The roadway bridge is now in need of maintenance and repair, as indicated by lifecycle and condition assessments.
