Petapolooza is an annual event that brings together pet owners and enthusiasts within our community. It gives our community the opportunity to meet industry professionals, rescue groups, and others in the pet industry.

Thank you to everyone that attended Petapolooza 2025.  It was a huge success that saw a record-breaking attendance of 4,500 people and raised over $36,000, including an amazing $11,729.45 in day-of donations from you, the public.

Petapolooza is Animal Services largest fundraiser with all proceeds going towards building Pickering a permanent animal shelter and/or for the day to day care of animals housed at the shelter, including unforeseen medical costs.

Admission

Admission is a suggested $5 donation per person, with free admission for seniors 55+, children under 12, and pets.

Along with entertainment and vendor booths, there are plenty of giveaways and activities for the whole family!

Event Lineup

You can expect to see around 4,000+ attendees, and over 80 exhibitors and rescue groups. There will be plenty of giveaways including pet bandanas, games, food samples, water stations for your pet, live entertainment for the whole family and more!

1:30 pm Join Animal Services and the Pickering Public Library as highlight previous years authors and launch this years Tails of Hope Short Story Contest!
2:30 pm Meet n’ Greet and Photos with Sparky the Fire Dog and Undercover Daschund

For the safety of all attendees, we encourage any dogs that do not do well with people, crowds, loud noises, or other dogs to be left at home.

Please note, all dogs entering any City event must comply with the Responsible Pet Ownership By-law (6811/07) and the Dog Owners Liability Act.

Dogs that have characteristics similar to a Pit Bull (under the act) must wear a muzzle.
