Pickering Museum Village is Durham Region’s largest open-air museum located in the scenic valley of Pickering, Ontario. Just minutes from Highway 407 and Pickering City Centre, our site offers a unique blend of heritage architecture, engaging programming, and modern amenities tailored for motor coach tourism. 

The newly developed Dorsay Community and Heritage Centre (DCHC) features a temporary gallery, café, gift shop, rest spaces, accessible washrooms, a patio, and flexible program space. In the museum village, guests will find a gift shop/snack bar, picnic shelter, and dedicated areas for tourism package programming.

All About Anne

Explore filming locations from beloved Anne of Green Gables productions. Guests participate in themed workshops, enjoy guided tours, and can extend their visit with afternoon tea and a vintage fashion show. 

Duration: Approximately 2.5 hours

War on Whisky

Step into the Roaring Twenties with mocktail mixology, art deco fashion accessories, and a self-guided passport activity exploring bootlegging and prohibition history.

Spine Tingling

Delve into Victorian funerary customs and spiritualism with a séance, behind-the-scenes access to our historic hearse, and mortuary photography. 

Duration: Approximately 2.5 hours

Yes, our site includes accessible washrooms, ramps, and pathways to ensure all guests can enjoy the experience. Our grounds are uneven, and the path from the DCHC is a steep elevation. For guests with severe mobility restrictions, contact us to discuss changes we can make for your participants’ comfort. 

Yes, we offer a dedicated bus turnaround and parking area for motor coaches. 

Yes, we have a café in the DCHC and a snack bar in the museum village. Add-on picnic lunches or themed teas are available depending on the package. 

We provide complimentary refreshments and lounge spaces for drivers and organizers to relax during the visit. 

Yes, we offer flexible scheduling and can include time for exhibit exploration or gift shop visits. 

Our packages are designed for groups of 15 to 56 guests. Larger groups may be accommodated with advance notice.
