Pickering, ON, Friday, September 30, 2022 – The City of Pickering is celebrating frontline workers through two new murals to be installed at Chestnut Hill Developments Recreation Complex (CHDRC) in the coming months.
Two Durham-based artists will be consulting with community members in order to create artworks that celebrate front line workers and first responders.

Pickering, ON, July 26, 2022 – On Sunday, MP Jennifer O’Connell, Mayor Dave Ryan, and City staff announced that the City of Pickering will receive over $350,000 in funding support from the Government of Canada to transform a portion of Esplanade Park into a Meditation, Mindfulness, and Music Park. Pickering, ON, September 20, 2022 – The City of Pickering is pleased to announce that Canadian artist, Patrick Bermingham, has been commissioned to create a public artwork, titled, One Horse Power for a new Fire Station, currently being built in Pickering’s Seaton neighbourhood.
The artwork will be located at the front entrance of the new facility, which is currently under construction at the corner of Zents Drive and Brock Road, and expected to open in 2023.
