The City of Pickering is holding an Open House and a Statutory Public Meeting under the Planning Act. The purpose of these meetings is to provide interested parties the ability to learn more about the proposal and provide any comments and feedback before any decisions are made on the above noted application.

Roof Replacement at Chestnut Hill Developments Recreation Complex
Please be advised that the Linton House washrooms will be closed until further notice due to a leak which will result in ongoing required repairs.
Construction for the Council Chamber Renovation will commence on August 11, 2025 and will
continue until April 11, 2026. During this time, the Council Chamber will be closed.
Proposal
The purpose of this application is to amend certain zoning standards to allow for the development of a commercial plaza with eight buildings, which may include a grocery store, pharmacy, banks, restaurants, personal services and other service-related uses.
Holiday Operating Hours for Monday, August 4, 2025
To help residents stay cool and safe during periods of extreme heat, the City of Pickering is introducing extended hours for select amenities during designated heat warnings.
Updated Operational Hours – Effective July 29, 2025
Chestnut Hill Developments Recreation Complex – Public Swim
During designated heat warnings:
• Monday to Friday: 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm – 10:00 pm
• Saturday and Sunday: 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm
Splash Pads – All Locations
Open daily from 8:00 am to 9:00 pm:
• Amberlea Park
• Beachfront Park & Millennium Square
• Foxtail Green
These extended hours will remain in effect during active heat warnings issued by the Region of Durham.

July 18, 2025 - Today, the City of Pickering and the Town of Ajax notified Elexicon Corporation of our decision to conclude our Request for Proposal (RFP) process that had explored options with respect to our continued partial ownership of the utility. This notification formally concludes the process, which was initiated in July 2024.
