Closure for the installation of watermain, storm and sanitary sewers.

Our population is forecast to increase by 45 percent by 2034, fueled in part by new development in central Pickering and intensification in Pickering’s City Centre. This growth comes with opportunity – and responsibility. We must invest in new community amenities like arenas, libraries, parks, gyms, and pools.

November 18, 2025: Residents may have noticed construction activity at Orchard Villa Long-Term Care Home, located at 1955 Valley Farm Road. We understand there are questions and concerns about what is happening, who is leading the project, and what role the City of Pickering plays.

There will be a routine test of the Alert Ready emergency alerting system on Wednesday, November 19, 2025.

Pickering Animal Services is hosting a Rabies Vaccination and Microchip Clinic on Saturday, November 15, in partnership with the Durham Region Health Department and Millennium City Veterinary Hospital.

All swim programs, lane swim and public swim will be cancelled at the Chestnut Hill Developments Recreation Complex Pool beginning at 2:00 pm on Friday, December 5th until Sunday, December 7th, 2025 inclusive for a swim meet.

TACC Construction will be completing a watermain connection in the intersection of Sideline 24 and Whitevale Road. This involves a hard closure of Sideline 24 from Whitevale Road to Kubota Drive.

Due to unforeseen issues with construction, Dillingham Road was not opened on the scheduled date of Tuesday, November 4, 2025. We anticipate the remaining works to be completed by Friday, November 28, 2025.
