The City of Pickering is preparing for extreme cold and heavy snowfall this weekend. City crews will be clearing roads and sidewalks in priority sequence in accordance with established winter maintenance standards. We thank you for your patience and cooperation, and encourage caution if travel is necessary. Updates will be provided as conditions change.

Today, the Superior Court of Justice - Ontario Divisional Court once again ruled in favour of the City of Pickering, confirming the sanctions imposed on Councillor Lisa Robinson.

Purpose: Chestnut Hill Developments Recreation Complex is a designated Warming Centre during cold weather warnings.
Duration: Current warning extended to Saturday, January 31, 2026
While a cold weather warning is in effect, the Chestnut Hill Developments Recreation Complex will be a designated warming centre. Leashed pets are welcome provided they are well controlled by their owner.
The current warning has been extended and will continue until the morning of Saturday, January 31, 2026.
The playground will be temporarily closed at the Bayshore Tot Lot for its reconstruction, including new play equipment and replacing of the existing engineered wood fiber safety surfacing. Duration: Friday, January 16, 2026 to Friday, May 1, 2026

Please be advised that all City of Pickering programs are cancelled today (Thursday, January 15, 2026) due to continuing severe weather and current road conditions. All facilities remain open. Programs are planned to resume as scheduled tomorrow morning (Friday, January 16, 2026).
